Melody is a Canadian pianist who recently completed her Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of British Columbia under Dr. David Fung.
In 2025, she won First Prize at the Canadian Music Competition and will represent British Columbia at the national finals in Quebec. She has also received top prizes at the Vancouver International Music Festival, Clara Schumann International Competition, and Hong Kong Victoria International Piano Competition, among others.
Melody has appeared in masterclasses with renowned pianists including André Laplante, Michelle Cann, Ronan O’Hora, and Craig Sheppard, and has been awarded scholarships such as the Faculty of Arts Graduate Award and the Johann Strauss Foundation Scholarship.
She has performed across North America, Europe, and Asia, including solo and chamber recitals at Shenzhen Concert Hall and the Central Conservatory of Music Recital Hall in Beijing. She has also participated in festivals such as Orford Musique, Gijon Piano Festival, and AlpenKammerMusik (Austria), and collaborated with principal players of the London Symphony Orchestra and Dresdner Philharmonie. Her chamber ensemble, Nuages Trio, has received multiple competition recognitions.
As a committed educator, Melody has several years of teaching experience with students from beginner to advanced levels and has been invited to give masterclasses in China, the United States, and Vancouver.
She co-founded Golden Ears Chamberfest, a summer chamber music festival across British Columbia that presented sold-out concert series in 2024. She also organized a Chopin-themed concert through Western University’s CLEE project, and in 2025 launched Piano Pitches, a new concert series that debuted in June with support from local sponsors, continuing her commitment to community-focused musical projects.
