Other Accomplishments: James started playing the violin at the age of 9. As a young violin player, he won multiple prizes in solo competitions including the Hong Kong School’s Music Festival. He was also active in orchestral performances and competitions in his secondary school and university life.
Prior to his career as a violin teacher, James was awarded the Associate Diploma (Recital in Violin) from Trinity College, London. Before coming to Canada, he also taught students of all ages for nearly a decade in Hong Kong. One of the qualities that make James great is that he personalizes lessons for learners of different ages, skill levels, and styles. James has experience with a variety of current violin methods, and not only focuses on technical skills but also tries to cultivate a positive attitude toward playing and practicing the violin.
