- Ange Lam comes to us after having taught with the Yamaha school in Kingston, Ontario for 7 years. Ange obtained her Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education Degrees from Queen’s University. She studied piano accompaniment with Prof. Michel Szczesniak, and composition with Dr. John Burge and Dr. Marjan Mozetich. Ange completed a specialization in Music Education, studying a variety of music teaching methods with Dr. Julia Brook, Dr. Adrienne Shannon, and Dr. Ben Bolden. Ange grew up as a student of the Yamaha school, having completed courses as a child in the JMC, JSAC, and SAC streams. She also participated in the JOC program, having been invited to perform her own compositions throughout Canada and the United States.
- Ange is a huge believer in connecting with her students and getting to know each one of them as an individual. She strives to make her classes engaging and fun while instilling a strong sense of expectation to keep her students motivated to reach their goals. Ange understands that each student and their family will have different goals for their musical education, and will work together with each family to set and achieve these targets. Ange is very excited to join the Yamaha Music School team in Markham, and is looking forward to a great year of learning with her students!
