Canadian cellist Christopher expresses his passion for music as a devoted soloist, chamber musician and collaborator. Having won many top prize awards at the Canadian Music Competition, National Music Festival, Tecchler & Forster Cello Competition and many others, he is an avid solo performer throughout North America. Mr. Hwang has been an active cello teacher for the past seven years, teaching at institutions such as Yale School of Music as Teacher Assistant, University of Toronto as cello guest artist, Canada Music Academy, Yamaha School of Music and private teachings. Passionate for teaching, many of his students have earned RCM degrees in cello, won awards at Kiwanis Music Festival and have joined the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. His teaching methods vary depending on the students needs from basic technique to preparing for competitions/concerts. Also Mr. Hwang enjoys teaching basic theory, history and working with student’s aural and reading of music. He is extremely involved with his students’ musical interest and hopes to make every lesson a fun and enjoyable experience.
